Meet Annie Wagner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Wagner.

Annie Wagner

Hi Annie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Coming from a background in escrow, I joined the Southwest Homes team in 2023. Initially starting as an Administrative Assistant, I quickly embraced the role with hard work, dedication, and a genuine admiration for the company’s mission. Through these efforts, I am now proud to serve as the Operations Manager for Southwest Homes.

In my current role, I oversee and manage all aspects of operations, ensuring smooth workflows across departments. Since stepping into this position, I’ve been thrilled to implement a more seamless system that enhances efficiency for our customers, sales representatives, and construction teams alike. Additionally, I take pride in achieving a higher active project log, which reflects our growing impact and dedication to excellence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but the challenges have been key to our growth. One of the biggest hurdles was reviewing and overhauling our documentation system, including the documents themselves. This was no small feat, but it was essential for improving efficiency and ensuring a seamless experience for everyone involved.

While we’re always on the lookout for ways to refine our processes further, I take great pride in the progress we’ve made. These efforts have put us in a position where our systems and workflows have gained a strong reputation for reliability and effectiveness.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As the office joke goes, I’m the “well-oiled machine” of Southwest Homes—though, unlike most machines, I run efficiently without wear and tear! What truly sets me apart is my unwavering dedication and loyalty to Jon Rocha, the owner and founder of Southwest Homes. I deeply appreciate the trust he’s placed in me to oversee and manage his company, and in turn, he has shown me the same level of loyalty and support in my role.

I’m known for my ability to handle a vast workload while maintaining both efficiency and high-quality output. This balance ensures that every aspect of our operations—whether for customers, sales representatives, or construction teams—runs as smoothly as possible. I’m most proud of the trust and respect I’ve built with our team, knowing that my contributions have helped streamline processes and elevate Southwest Homes’ reputation.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me—aside from my one-year-old daughter, who also happens to be our internal Southwest Homes mascot—is the opportunity to provide affordable housing in today’s economy. I emphasize “affordable” in the context of today’s society, which is vastly different from what it meant back in the early 2000s.

The ability to help families and individuals achieve their dream of homeownership, despite the economic challenges we face, is incredibly rewarding. It’s about finding practical and sustainable solutions that truly make a difference in people’s lives.
