Meet Anne and Scott Childress of Gawdy Dawgs in Goodyear

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne and Scott Childress.

Anne and Scott, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My wife and I Foster for Valley Dogs Rescue we have been for the last 12 years but when we went to adoption events the cute fluffy ones seem to get noticed not the short haired ones so my wife invented the Bow Band so the pups that are short haired could wear a bow, which it has helped but also the short haired pups can get all fancy like the long haired pups the bow could also be worn around the collar for the males and it has got them more noticed at adoption events we now are making matching dresses to add with the bow so now more pups find there forever homes.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road we finally after many trails run on the bows we have mastered the bow there very sturdy and they last even through washing and the bow keeps its shape but we are still trying to get it out into the world.

Gawdy Dawgs is an amazing company it helps get the fosters noticed more, parents can now put bows on their chihuahuas, labs, bulldogs they all now can be included, We specialize in the bow bands that hold the bow on top of the dogs or cats head, they come in different colors and also for the holidays and we now are making dresses and shirts for the pups that match the bow, what sets us different is there is no product like ours out there.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Helping the animals because most of the money made goes straight to the foster dogs in need.
