Meet Annalee Dziuk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annalee Dziuk.

Annalee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2001 my mom, Eleanor, began selling products at the Roadrunner farmers market to teach my brother and I work ethic. We started out selling several different products but over the years we narrowed it down to selling honey. My mom saw the value of supporting local beekeepers and the good that it could do for the environment and the community. Over the years we have built a strong connection between the beekeepers, ourselves and our customers. As a company, we place a high value on honesty, reliability, and customer care. Now we work five different markets on Saturdays during the cooler months, Phoenix Public Market, Gilbert farmers market, Uptown Phoenix farmers market, Roadrunner farmers market, and Peoria farmers market. Our main goal is to bring a quality product to our customers. My favorite thing about selling honey and other products from the hive is learning all of the amazing benefits that not everyone knows about and helping people find something that can help them live their best (and most tasty) life!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Colony Collapse Disorder is a continuing issue that we have seen our beekeepers deal with. Every year our beekeepers lose about 30% of their bees. Not only is this an issue when it comes to the supply of honey available for us but it is a much larger environmental issue.

Tell us about your business.
We represent local beekeepers from around Arizona. Because we have been in business for over 15 years, we have built strong relationships with both the beekeepers we work with as well as our customers. We pride ourselves on the high quality products from the hive that we have as well as our strong commitment to integrity when working with both beekeepers and our customers.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Many of our staff are young and we are excited about the chance to help them develop a strong sense of independence and business skills that they carry with them into their careers. We see the value of employing young adults to give them a special chance (just as I had) to learn the importance of work ethic and good business practices. We intend to continue hiring youth and potentially working more farmers’ markets and increasing our availability in the Valley.
