Meet Angie Estep of Piercings By Angie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Estep.

Angie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had done customer service my whole life. I decided to leave Milwaukee and move to Phoenix. When I got here finding work wasn’t easy and moved home. I started working with a close friend at the Tattoo Shop she managed. I did typical customer service like answering phones, greeting customers and doing their paperwork.

While watching someone else do their piercing apprenticeship I was mesmerized! Within a year I had my own apprenticeship completed and I was now bedazzling my own clients. I decided to give Arizona another shot. I’ve been here since August 2012 and couldn’t be happier. I work out of Art and Soul Tattoo with great artists. We are a family.

Has it been a smooth road?
The Tattoo and Piercing industry will always have bumps in the road. We are all self-employed and slow season can sometimes be stressful. Staying positive and focused is always best.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Piercings By Angie story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a full-time piercer. My role as a piercer can be as simple as giving you a little extra bling to being your consular helping you through a hard time. I always try to be friendly and warm. I take pride in how I treat my clients before, during and after.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I’m hoping that one day no one is judged based on the piercings they have!
