Meet Angela Holland of Preferred Dental Services in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Holland.

Angela, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Born and raised in Maryland, I moved to Arizona a decade ago for a company that promised me the dream to make an impact in the dental industry, something I grew very passionate about. Little did I know that after just 3 years I would leave that company and pursue my dream job of growing dental practices. Since then, I have worked with many well respected names in the industry. However, I always felt I was missing something. I felt stagnant and needed to help other practices grow to feel fulfilled! That is when I created Preferred Dental Services. I wanted to offer two solutions, the first to employee stay at home moms or encourage women in the industry to create a lifestyle they feel works for them, not only working in a dental practice. The solution we provide to the dental industry is, helping owners grow their practices by removing all insurance issues from day to day operations. This way each practice is guaranteed that an insurance expert is always handling the claims and posting, there is no payment lag time when there is turn over and staff training and eliminates the possibility of embezzlement. My entire team, myself included having a true passion for growing dental practices one claim at a time!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, the road has not been smooth but, the entire time I felt it in my gut to carry on! I am grateful for the lessons I have learned along the way, because if I didn’t learn then I wouldn’t be where I am!

Please tell us about your business.
We are a female owned and operated the company, that specializes in dental insurance billing. We are known for including insurance AR Management in our base fee, and growing practice collections by increasing insurance collections. We are not only female run, but we are also millennial owned. Some people may not like that term, however, we use it to our advantage, we are hungry for growth, success, and a place within the industry to call our own!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’d say leaving my comfortable office job and risking it all to start Preferred, my husband and I have not looked back since!
