Meet Andrew Cates of Sedona Arizona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Cates.

Hi Andrew, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, and going through the life journey, the struggles, and the tragedies I experienced with my family encouraged a lot of growth and questions about my life and path.

After moving to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University, I had a deep calling for music. Although I never learned an instrument or music growing up as a child and attempted to discover my path and purpose in school, it was this soul calling I could not ignore. So, at 23 years old, I started learning the guitar, singing, and writing songs. It all came at once and took off like wildfire. It became my medicine for healing and inspired me to continue. I’m 33 years old and am a full-time artist performing original music I like to call Desert Country, which is all about love, life, and celebrating the good times. It’s my gift and medicine to share with the people and inspire change.

My songs are rhythmically charged and hit deep to the soul. At one point, I moved to Nashville to see where it would take my music. Still, after learning about the music business and my Mother passing away, I took to Sedona, Arizona, where I discovered my voice and soul. As a songwriter, I realized I am here to express my truth and encourage healing through music. I am growing and look forward to how far it can take me. I have had visions of going around the world when the time is right and having a successful band, a career charting on a billboard, and living my life to the fullest potential possible. I am grateful I took this path and chose music. Although it has come with struggles, it has brought me to my liberation and authentic expression of who I am. I am honored and look forward to sharing more of this gift with the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A long time ago, a mentor told me about this path. It has not been smooth but very challenging, facing doubts and financial challenges and struggles, but it has been all for growth and getting clear on what I want in life. Moving forward and continuing this path is opening up doors I could never have imagined if I didn’t continue to strive and keep moving forward with it. You cannot have a plan B; it’s just done, and keep doing it. My Grandfather always taught me that I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I will always get the job done with persistence. With all the competition in the world and saturated markets of people trying to be the same thing, it taught me to stay true to myself and do the best I can at what I am doing regardless of anyone else. As the journey unfolds, it is becoming easier in many ways after breaking through the struggles, doubts, and negativity trying to hold me back. I know I am the only one in the way of myself and therefore have the power to create my reality, and with that will do so.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a songwriter and performing musical artist, I am a troubadour, a storyteller, and a sound healer. I’m here to deliver music medicine and raise the vibration of love on the planet through music. We have gone through and continue to move through difficult times. Still, music is a global tool to connect with all people and deliver the frequency of love because everyone can relate to one another when we listen. Music is all about energy and emotion. It’s time to heal humanity and heal the people’s hearts so we can live in a better world, the golden age. I’m very proud of myself for my diligence and courage to move forward and continue to grow because when we do this, we discover our truth and what we are capable of. I must be a leader and way-shower for others to discover their path and destiny. I am here to liberate and be outside the box of the matrix we live in. I play music in 432-hertz verses mainstream industry which is 440 because 432 is the love frequency that sets me apart from the mainstream.

What matters most is love and healing to create a better world for all so we can get back to unity and love each other, respect, and appreciate one another. It is all about liberating humanity’s hearts and souls and discovering our truth. The great awakening. The road back home to love and the road back to God. The times are changing, and the time is now for true leaders and the systems we know to change for the better.
