Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Bernett

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I invented Bee Well Therapeutics treated material after watching my wife, a board-certified dermatologist, wake up several times in the middle of the night scratching her hands from severe eczema. Like most patients with hand eczema, she would apply creams or ointments, then apply white cotton gloves in an attempt to keep the moisturizer directly on her skin. For those of you who have suffered with eczema, psoriasis, or dry skin and tried this method before, you know that the white cotton gloves quickly soak up everything you apply, leaving little product to actually soak into your skin.

With my Chemistry Degree and my wife’s dermatology knowledge, I was able to develop a product that will bring relief to your dry, cracked skin. The secret is in the beeswax treated cloth, which forms a minimally absorptive, but still breathable barrier between your skin and the outside world. This allows your topical products (creams, ointments, or prescriptions) to stay where they are needed the most, on your skin!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is always challenges to overcome, but that is part of the journey, most of my careers I have had the opportunity to collaborate with others when faced with a challenge, if it was building Locomotives or Jet Engines, I always had someone else I could bounce Ideas off of to complete the task. When running my own business dealing with a lot of (Intelectual Property) IP, I didnt have those resources, so having to solve the challenges on my own. This makes the road a lot longer but, I am learning everyday.

We’ve been impressed with Bee Well Therapeutics LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bee Well Therapeutics is my company that I created to manufacture and sell the medical textile I created. The materials that I have created are considered a topical delivery system, it works with all topicals that anybody would want to drive deeper into there skin, whether its to treat a skin condition like atopic dermatitis or hydrate your skin.

BWTs materials are designed a breathable occlusive material, that trap the topical but yet are still designed to let the body breath, the bodys ability to breath is very important when occluding. Also, my materials are treated with a beeswax based solution that I have created, its a known fact that beeswax is rich in fatty amino acids, which when the skin is damaged, these fatty acids are what the body looks for to heal itself.

This is what really separates BWTs materials from everything else, along with the reusability. Providing the materials are taken care of, they can get about 90 uses from the treated textiles. There isnt anything like what I have created in the market and the results that I have seen and read about from those that have decided to use BWTs materials is truly amazing.
