Meet Amy Vancapelle of The Tea & Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Vancapelle

Amy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Founded by a dynamic mother and daughter duo, Randee and Amy, our journey began with a shared passion for creating magical moments and spreading joy through the art of tea.
We have always held a deep love for tea parties, treasuring the memories and laughter we have experienced while sipping tea and indulging in delectable treats. This business was formed by our own experiences and cherished memories that inspired us to share that with others.
Tea houses in The Valley are few and far between and it’s hard to find places that check all the boxes; great atmosphere, delicious food, authentic and whimsical while being able to do a special event and keep it an intimate experience.

This dream especially became a reality after a trip to England with Amy’s sister in laws, Rachael said “I would love to bake for you if you started a Tea business.” It’s so fun to do this with strong women who value hard work and the joy of making beautiful things.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are always challenges to starting a new business. They have been small challenges, figuring out advertising, social media, legalities and set up to name a few. But it’s great to have such a good partnership and work through any and all challenges together!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At The Tea & Co we specialize in making every experience special. We bring an intimate, unique and beautiful party right to your door.
We strive to be a one stop shop from rentals to food, set up, florals, decor, and even service.
Throwing a party can be stressful and that seems to be what stops a lot of people from doing it, but the joy and memories that come from special events like ours are unmatched. We want the host to be able to enjoy their guests and the memories that are being made, not have to worry if things got set up, food was ready or even clean up after it’s over.
We also strive to stand out and be unique, our food is both beautiful but also delicious! We also have an amazing baker who makes decadent desserts to perfection.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I (Amy) am an only girl in a family of 3 boys. So you can imagine the dinosaurs, legos, wrestling, and dirt that consumed my childhood, but my most cherished childhood memory was when I got to dress up in my fanciest dress and go to afternoon Tea with my mom (Randee also an only girl with two brothers) and grandmother.
It was a special Christmas Tea at the Ritz Carlton where all the dishes were real, the sandwiches and desserts were beautiful and the room was filled with beautiful furniture, multiple decorated Christmas trees and a grand piano.
It was here that the dream started and Mom and I talked about someday having a Tea business where we could share this magic with others.
