Meet Amy Stephens of AZ Weddings By Amy in Valley Wide

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Stephens.

Amy, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2015 I was asked to officiate a friend of mine’s wedding. I enjoyed it so much that a couple of years later I began to actively market myself to celebrate the love of two people in a joyous union. In 2018 I officiated 43 weddings and in 2019 I officiated a total of 62 weddings. Each couple is so different and the amount of emotion they share between the two of them is felt and can be overwhelming to me being near them. I am so blessed to share such a memorable experience.

Please tell us about your business.
Part of my background, I have been teaching yoga for over 20 years and the spiritual side of me comes through a ceremony. I have heard time and time again from the couples I have worked with that my calm voice helped them stay focused on each other and forget they were being stared at. So many of the couples I work with have “stage fright” and don’t like being the center of attention, so to know that I was able to be there for them and keep them calm and at the moment, warms my heart. I believe that love is for everyone and I rejoice in all the weddings I have the honor to participate in. Their words are used to help define the type of ceremony they are looking for.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The right couple is drawn to me and being able to identify if we are a good fit from our first conversation.  In 2019, I had the pleasure of leading 62 weddings with 62 amazing and very different couples.   What brings me joy is the fact that seeing a couple come together and share an emotional time, whether in an elopement ceremony or in a larger wedding at a venue or backyard.   My heart is full when I leave the ceremony, seeing such joy from a special occasion.
