Meet Amber Lynn of Snapdragon Bloom Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Lynn.

Hi Amber, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My story begins with a love language for flowers and nature at a young age. I grew up in Nashville, TN where I was raised by southern hospitality, grit, and grace on farms and gardens. I shared most things with my beautiful younger LGBTQ sister, who truly inspired me as she embraced her true self in a world that doesn’t make it easy.

We didn’t have materialistic items or fancy things, but we learned how to love the Earth, eat well, and holistic healing from our Nutritionist mother, and hardworking father. My first job was at age 14 in an ice cream parlor giving people their yummy treats, listening to their stories while I worked, and falling in love with customer service! From this point forward, I enjoyed working with the public in customer service, and I knew I needed to work hard to make a living as I did not want my own children one day to grow up with less. I eventually put myself through college working at a Country Club where I supported florists for weddings and events. The year of setting up and breaking down weddings, carrying flowers, building installations, and supporting guests was a lot of fun. I questioned my career path but knew I needed to finish college on the path I was succeeding. Unfortunately, this job came to an end as I survived a total house fire which forced me to move back home to recover and heal. The angels that brought me to wake up that night in the fire and getting out will forever be a blessing I celebrate each day. I taught myself to push through and finish college. I graduated in 2010 with a 4.0 in dental science but continued to celebrate my passion for flowers by elevating my cut-flower gardening skills through the years as a hobby and a focus on floriculture holistically. In between working in the dental field, I volunteered at various urban greenhouse farms, and plant nurseries, and maintained my own flower beds, rose bushes, and perennial and annual cut flowers to feed my flower passions. I had the most beautiful snowball hydrangeas and tea rose bushes in Tennessee! This is when I realized that flowers were more than a passion for me, it was healing my spirit.

As time blossomed, I became a proud mother to my son, Silas, in Latin means ‘Man of the Forest’. From everything I learned since childhood about natural healing with plants, gardening, and life lessons, I am grateful to share these gifts and teachings with my son for growing into a humble and grateful person. To never take anything for granted and to spread kindness to others while celebrating every walk of life for who they are. This brings us to the present day, where we have planted new roots and beginnings since 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. As a single mother in her mid-thirties, I have never felt so happy before. Focusing on our floral business and finding magic in the desert through flowers. Learning to grow up with less, understanding nature, even in her storms, working over a decade in the dental industry with patients of all smiles, stories, and lives, supporting my son and me, and truly being grateful for everything and everyone we meet. I was only missing the dream in my heart of owning a wedding floral business to give back and celebrate through flowers. We took all of our experiences and passions together to create our family-owned and operated wedding flower business, Snapdragon Bloom Bar. Graciousness and strength symbolize the flower language of Snapdragons. This is more than flowers, it’s a deep-rooted purpose to share nature’s gift to create beautiful memories for you.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My path in life has been filled with hurdles, setbacks, and hardships.

From growing up with less, to losing everything I did have in a total house fire, to moving 2,000 miles west away from all of my childhood friends and family starting over with my son as a single mother. All of these moments taught me how to stay strong through the storms, never settle, and don’t stop blossoming for yourself and your family. The gift of flowers has provided a lifelong love worth sharing with others!
