Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Radan.
Amanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After having a difficult pregnancy with my son I knew I wanted a more natural life for our family. I wanted to not rely so heavily on doctors and treat ourselves at home. During my postpartum period, I found myself struggling with postpartum anxiety and depression. This lasted three years! I knew I needed to dig deeper and find a way out. Lasting healing. After talking with other moms I found this is common with postpartum women! So I devoted myself to learning everything I could to help postpartum women who are depleted, exhausted, and overwhelmed. I call myself a postpartum herbalist. I use mostly herbs but also energy healing, supplementation, and nutrition therapy for a holistic approach.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road! Herbalists aren’t recognized nationally or licensed in any way. I’m also a nurse, a wife, and a mom. And let’s be honest there are only so many hours in a day. But I love my work and am so passionate about it I find myself researching and reading all about it even on my downtime.
Please tell us about your work.
I work with postpartum women that are struggling. Women that feel exhausted, depleted and overwhelmed. You don’t have to have a newborn to be postpartum! I am a herbalist and a nurse. I approach health from a scientific and energetic standpoint. I am most proud when I graduate moms because they don’t need me anymore! We work together to make a natural wellness plan including teas, tinctures, herbal baths, Yoni steams, supplementation, and energy healing. Mixing the logical with the spiritual.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood is playing guitar and singing with my family. We always had music playing in the house. Coming together as a family to dance and make music always brought us so much joy and togetherness.
