Meet Amanda Nelson and Jenny McCafferty of Tucson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Nelson and Jenny McCafferty.

Hi Amanda and Jenny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At OH MY!, our mission is to bring joy to clean baking. We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between ingredients you trust and the indulgent taste you crave. That’s why we create grain-free, junk-free mixes that deliver nostalgic, bakery-quality flavor, without compromise. Designed for modern families and modern shelves, we’re redefining what it means to indulge better.
We’re two moms who met at our kids’ school and instantly bonded over clean living, and a deep love of baked goods. Every mix we tried forced a choice: either “better-for-you” but bland, or delicious but packed with junk. So we made our own, a product that is clean, craveable, and joyfully indulgent. That’s when OH MY! was born.

The baking aisle has long been stuck in two lanes: dry “healthier” mixes or junk-filled “treats.” Today’s consumers want it all, real ingredients, zero junk, and desserts worth savoring. OH MY! is here to change that. Our mixes deliver the nostalgic, decadent taste of a bakery treat, without compromise. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, the journey has been incredibly encouraging. It feels like the world is truly ready for better baked goods, ones that taste phenomenal without ever being boring or “cardboard-like.” This seems like the lane we were meant to be in, and it’s clear that people are craving exactly what OH MY! delivers.
Of course, there are always obstacles along the way, but we see them as challenges to rise to, not barriers to stop us. We’re committed to pushing through because our mission goes beyond just creating delicious, clean mixes, it’s about bringing better baking to families. We hope that by offering wholesome, craveable treats, we can help the next generation understand the value of what they put into their bodies. For us, every mix is a small step toward shaping a future where clean, indulgent baking is the standard, not the exception.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Amanda Nelson (Co-Founder)

I’ve been in the restaurant industry since I was a child, my family has owned local restaurants in Tucson for the past 35 years. I eventually left that family business to open four of my own restaurants across Arizona and Oregon. Entrepreneurship has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Back in 2018, I was prescribed a medication that nearly killed me, which triggered health anxiety and a kind of health PTSD. That experience set me on a long and challenging journey to prioritize my well-being. I completely transformed my life, changing the way I ate, what I put on my body, and even how I thought. I committed to staying positive, deepening my relationship with God, meditating, and doing everything I could to optimize my mental, physical, and emotional health.
This journey is what fuels my passion for OH MY!. I want people to know that our brand is built with their wellness in mind, and they can enjoy our baked goods with confidence. I’m most proud of the work I’ve done to be better every day and of being a mom to my 11-and-a-half-year-old son. Managing his nutrition and helping him understand what he puts in his body is a big part of my life, and it inspires me to create products that can make a positive impact on families everywhere.

Jenny McCafferty (Co-Founder)
First and foremost, my most important role is being a mom. I’m a proud mom to four boys and one beautiful daughter. My journey into what I do today started when my third son began experiencing severe meltdowns and uncontrollable outbursts. I dove into research and discovered the impact that artificial dyes and certain ingredients can have on the body. That led to a complete overhaul of our family’s diet.

When I met Amanda, she expanded my understanding of what to eat and what to avoid. I’ve always had a soft spot for chocolate chip cookies, but every “clean” mix I tried left me disappointed—there was one in particular that was so far from the real thing it wasn’t even close. One day I was venting about it, and Amanda and I started dreaming up all the things we wished existed. She looked at me and said, “We can do this.” And that’s how Oh My! was born.

We created our brand to be more than just baking mixes—it’s a community. We love deeply, we’re passionate about what we feed our kids and share with others, and we believe everyone should have access to treats that are both incredibly delicious and made without ingredients that could harm the body. Our kids love them, and we’re proud that families can indulge without the worry.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our husbands, families, children, and friends have been by our side every step of the way, uplifting us and being our biggest cheerleaders. They believe in OH MY! so wholeheartedly that they know the world is going to love these products.
