Meet Alyashah Muhammad and Ma’at Halim of Let’s Brunch Phx

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyashah Muhammad and Ma’at Halim.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alyashah and Ma’at. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, the brunch experience started for me, I’ll say around 2013. We (the brunch crew) started with the whole Sunday funday experience which eventually led to just brunch. I’m a foodie and I love to eat, so brunch was always on the agenda! As I’ve gotten older, I liked hanging out more so during the day and we made it a party with brunch! We traveled all over the valley just brunching, and it’s so much fun not to mention the great food. 2014 is when I started our annual mother’s day brunch for my family and it’s been a tradition ever since. Then I started to plan brunches at least once a month for myself and friends/family (brunch crew), and it just grew and grew. So now I’m the “brunch lady”. I would say about mid-February, I was brunching with a couple of cousins and close friend and we talked about my brunching habits and love for hosting. It was suggested to me to start a blog and host pop-up brunches at different restaurants in the valley. So I created an Instagram blog and started hosting pop-up brunches.

Has it been a smooth road?
It can be challenging and a bit stressful hosting anything. Im not a sales person but I have to sell my brand, I would say that is the challenging aspect. The work doesn’t end and it takes much dedication. When presenting your brand to different restaurants, they want to know what you can do differently, what is it that you can offer them. The business is growing, so there will be obstacles to come along the way, and I’m prepared for that. Building a following can be difficult and require patience because it definitely takes time. Thankful these are the only struggles I have come across.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Let’s Brunch Phx story. Tell us more about the business.
I put together the “ultimate” brunch experience. I host pop-up brunches throughout the valley. We also throw birthday brunch parties. We look for restaurants that are comfortable with a large party that is lively! We like to support other businesses in the valley and we provide an amazing brunch experience. We provide a DJ if needed and suggest specials for our guests. I want our guests to come back to the restaurants, and be pleased with their experience. You can say I’m like a brunch influencer. I provide what’s the greatest on the menu to the best cocktail. Newer restaurants are especially my favorite, the ones getting into the brunch experience. We all want a sufficient amount of business and I can proudly say I will provide that for their brunch hours. I am open to working with all restaurants throughout the valley. I’m a people pleaser and I love to see just that. I want my guest to feel good, eat good, and have a good time! I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built with management and the fact they always welcome us back. I love to see people end their brunch experience happy and full! We are growing and I can’t wait to see what more is to come!

Tell us about your childhood, what were you like growing up?
I was very shy growing up, with a wild imagination. Lol. I was very reserved and chill, yet a goofball. I would always walk around talking in a British accent, my mother thought I was hilarious. I was also a creative spirit. I’ve always had a love for fashion, I would sit around a literally just put together designs in my head. I would love to dress my friends and myself. I’ve always loved fashion, I just wasn’t the best at sketching. I still love the art of fashion, I just have someone sketch for me lol.
