Meet Alvin Moyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alvin Moyer.

Alvin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
During the early days of my career, when living in the Philippines I always had a love for beauty and makeup. While watching my favorite TV Actress Maricel Soriano on television, and thinking I want to create beauty just like her. With practicing and perfecting my makeup skills, I got my first chance to showcase my makeup talents in 2001 at the Miss Beauty Pageant. After the pageant, I was discovered and hired as a makeup artist for a television game show. The word spread that I can create beauty through the art of makeup and I became a favorite to do weddings and pageants. 

Upon coming to the United States in 2011, I wanted to build on the success that I have created in the Philippines, where I have joined the Miss Cochise and Miss Sierra vista pageants. The word spread that I had great talents in makeup. After doing some small makeup jobs around Sierra Vista in 2016, I joined the make-up team for the Copper Classic Bodybuilding Competition, where the model that I did makeup for came in Second Runner up.

After meeting my loving husband, I moved to Phoenix, and from there, my makeup care really started to take off. Starting out doing pageants and shows for the Filipino community in Phoenix, where my popularity has spread throughout the community. To further expand my knowledge of beauty and makeup, I attended the Paul Mitchell School Phoenix, where I successfully completed the 1600 hours required. While attending Paul Mitchel, it was recognized that Alvin was becoming a future leader in the beauty industry. After P.M., I started working for a Bridal Company, where I worked on many large weddings. During that time, I had the opportunity to be one of the makeup artist for Phoenix Fashion Week 2019. The makeup that I created could be seen showcased on the runway during the show.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The love of makeup has come quite naturally to me; when most people largely love the service provided, then there are the challenges of the client that don’t like the makeup no-matter what you try. These hard to please clients push me to be an even better makeup artist.

The Covid-19 shutdown has proven to be quite a challenge going from fully booked down to zero. During the time, it has given time to reflect and perfect my makeup skill so that can provide superior makeup service in the post-covid-19 era.

Alvin Moyer Makeup Artistry is an onsite makeup application service that specializes in the artistry of Bridal, fashion & Glamour Makeup for all Life’s Occasions. We service the Phoenix metro area. With ten years of experience working in the beauty industry, My goal is to make everyone look they’re very best by using the techniques of Traditional & Airbrush Makeup. I only use high-end products to achieve a level of satisfaction that my clients can be proud of. All makeup applications comes with a set of false eyelashes. I offer both day and night makeup, which requires the use of different shades and styles to fit the moment. Light Makeup, Skin Tone Makeup and Air Brush Makeup. My greatest achievements include; Having my makeup seen and featured on the runway at the 2019 Phoenix Fashion Week. Another great achievement is that my model’s makeup has been published in many publication. Working as the official makeup artist for the 2019 Brazilian awards show, which was televised on Brazilian Television. Lastly, doing the makeup for internationally known Filipino Celebrities for their Phoenix performance.

What were you like growing up?
My fondest memory is watching the beautiful women of the Miss Universe Pageant, wanting to recreate the makeup magic just like what I saw the models wearing on the runway. After the show, we had fun trying to recreate makeup magic with my niece and putting on our own fashion show at the house.

  • $50.00 Trial Makeup session: Bridal Makeup “Bride”. In this 60 appointment we talk about what will work best for you, and try it out.
  • $10.00 Eyelash application
