Meet Alice Woodard of Printwerx in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alice Woodard.

Alice, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in the printing industry in 1984 after graduating from high school. I answered an ad in the newspaper for a receptionist position that was at a label manufacturing company. I then spent the next nine years working for a forms manufacturer that sold to distributors, a check manufacturer that sold directly to clients and a distributor that sold directly to clients. I moved to Arizona in 1999 and started work with a print company that worked with banks and accountants to get referrals to their customers, this company did not offer the basic printing needs like business cards, stationery or promotional products. I started Printwerx in 2003 to accommodate the needs of the these clients and then left the company after it was bought out in 2007 to go full time with Printwerx.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a fairly smooth road. I was able to bring a good portion of my clients with me when I went out on my own in 2007 and still have some of those clients today. I have been active with networking and belonging to the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce with I believe has substantially helped my business along with providing fair pricing and exceptional customer service to my customers.

Please tell us about Printwerx.
I provide all of the companies printing needs. Paper Print, Promotional Products, Large Format Printing, and Silk Screen or Embroidered Apparel. Some of the items we do are: Business Cards, Stationery, Give Away Items, Postcards, Brochures, Banners, Trade Show Displays, Pens, Coffee Mugs, Etc. We can either print from a print-ready PDF or we can design what our clients need. I am proud of the quality and the service we provide to our clients.

Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
I like to get to know my clients and their business to determine what products would be the best fit for them and fit within their budget and help them gain business. I want my clients to be successful which makes me successful also.
