Today we’d like to introduce you to Akin Adeyemi.
Akin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I first started a side hustle training collegiate football players with getting ready for their season when it came to speed training and other methods. Afterward, I started coaching a small group of clients when it came to their fitness goals and aspirations as well. I wanted to be able to create a brand that proves everyone can be an athlete and that led me to my company name “Everlasting Athletics”.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a rollercoaster of emotions too say the least. Starting a business and establishing a clientele is something that I did not have experience with before. My background was in science and sports, I could explain the science behind the workouts but getting someone in the door was something I was not used to. I have needed to change the design in how I approach things even when it comes to marketing myself as well.
Please tell us about your work.
My vision for Everlasting Athletics is to create a brand that focuses on you being the best you that you can be. From the clothes to the fitness, we focus mainly on your physical health and creating a mindset that the human body is meant to be athletic. We want you to be able to be a functional human being first and foremost. Just recently, I just launched a podcast called Motivate me Mondays. This was to be able to reach the mental aspect of the clients that we have but also to promote the brand on a larger scale as well. This is something that I am proud of because of all the tremendous feedback we have been getting towards each episode. There are a lot of fitness brands but ours is not only appealing to change your mindset or your workout regimen but specifically your everyday life.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
It’s hard because your plans can be your dreams sometimes. And I have so many dreams/ideas for the company to grow as I figure out new ways to succeed. My future goals for the company are to establish ourselves in fitness and to eventually go from fitness on the go to have a local gym. From there I want to be able to also use our path into clothing to solidify ourselves as a fitness brand like a Lululemon or an Adidas. We want to do a unique twist where we can use recycled goods or fabrics to create new designs. That is something we have down the pipeline but for right now it is establishing the podcast and getting more viewers into that frontier. That way we can more traction and people more interested in what we are trying to build.
