Today we’d like to introduce you to Aevya Mesh.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
They say when a child is born they are born perfect. When Bone Hollow Relics was born, it was born perfectly flawed.
Sculpted from clay, revealed by hand and kilned to a hardened metal, emerged the relics of something long ago weathered, cracked and seemingly ancient. Like the gorgeously scarred entity of its creator~ quite possibly, happily IMperfect…
Please tell us about your art.
I am creating for “all the women that live inside the one”. My adornments, oddly photographed perspectives and relic-quaries are how I bring all of those ‘incarnations’ to light. My hope is that my creations tell a tale not only for all of my ‘selves’ but also for any warriors who may hear it’s calling.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I’ve always tried to support local creatives any way I can. I eat local, shop local, spread the local word. “Following”, “Liking”, “Commenting”, “Sharing” and advertising verbally are easy ways to help any artist. I understand that I may not be your ‘cup of tea’ but you may know someone that would love my work, tell them! Not all “support” translates into a purchase but it might make an artist starve just a little less in one way or another~
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I am always posting www.instagram.com/bonehollowrelics www.facebook.com/bonehollowrelics. My website: www.bonehollowrelics.com. I can be reached through any of those channels or at bonehollowrelics@gmail.com. I also do local shows around the Tucson area throughout the year.
