Meet Adriana Montoya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Montoya.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
From as far back as I can remember, I was captivated by this world. From an early age, I marveled at the life around me in people and nature so fiercely that I needed to preserve it. Then I found photography. The blazing sunsets, the catchlight illuminating the eyes of a child struck by wonder, the unique and beautiful smile of a senior, or lovers glowing with happiness it didn’t matter what it was. I wanted to capture it all and show everyone how beautiful I saw other people and their moments, Every chance I got I practiced and then before I knew it had turned into not only a passion but a business.

Please tell us about your art.
I photograph portraits, couples/engagements, weddings, and families! I use Lightroom to edit my photos to enhance the beauty of the photo. The reason I take photos is to share my artistic view of the world and others so they can fall in love with themselves and their moments all over again! I hope people take away a new perspective on themselves and how amazing they are! I also hope that I can capture peoples moments in a way that will bring a smile to their faces and their loved ones and will take them back to the moments in time that make life so good and beautiful.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I think the biggest challenge artists face today is themselves. We’re always criticizing our work, wondering if we’re good enough, and comparing ourselves to others when in reality we need to focus on cultivating our art and believing in ourselves. I truly believe that when an artist is proud of their work and values themselves, then others will start to value their art.
