Meet Adam Yeater

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Yeater.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was a kid running around in the swamps of the Everglades in Florida. After moving around a few times my family settled in Arizona. I have been here ever since.

Please tell us about your art.
I am obsessed with the creation and reproduction of imaginative and original art. I specialize in many different techniques of printmaking and production. From risograph printing to designer toy production. Most of my work usually relates to my comic books in some roundabout way.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
It’s easier than it’s ever been to be moderately successful as a working artist with the internet today. You have to work hard at it and wear many hats but it’s much more doable. On the other token I think working artists are seen as kind of like “bums” or “lazy”. What we do should be respected in the social construct as anyone else? We all need to work to change the way people see art and artist’s place in our society. Cities could offer more free art programs for low income and middle-income families now that they have decimated most of the programs in public schools.
