Meet 11Moi11

Today we’d like to introduce you to 11Moi11.

Thanks for sharing your story with us 11Moi11. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I was in the 4th grade when my elementary school offered free guitar lessons after class. But being the smallest kid in school, I could never grasp the neck of a full-size guitar. So my career tragically ended in two months, I had to retire until I got older and bigger.

I gave it a second chance when I was in 7th grade, Jr. High. My father got me a beginner’s guitar to see if I will actually keep this passion going. I practiced, learned my basic chords, but I was never satisfied. I wanted instant results, never understood the virtue of practicing and being consistent. I was getting bored of practicing alone, jamming along to a track. Imagining I was the lead guitar player doing those crazy solos, and hearing fans chanting my name… Moi! Moi! Moi!

I knew I would never get to a place like that, especially playing alone. Luckily I had older cousins who had a cover band that would be hired to play at local bars, weddings, and other parties. My cousins were kind enough to have me as their guitar player. Now that I was in a band, I realized my tempo was off and my fingers was not fast enough to change chords. This realization was a wake up call, it made me realize that I need to practice, and be more comfortable playing in front of an audience. I practiced, improved, and got more comfortable. I eventually ended up playing with my cousins for three years.

Three years later… now I am 17 years old. This was the most pinnacle point of my life, where I got distracted by girls, peer pressure, and trying to fit in socially. I stopped playing my guitar for a very long time and music was in the back burner. I lost my true self, this went on for a very long time. I did everything society expected me to do. Partied, dated, moved out of my parent’s place, lived with someone I loved, breakup, work at shitty job AND repeat. Can you believe I did this for ten years!?

Those ten years flew by and during that time, I always thought about music. When I would go out in clubs, concerts or even driving in my car I would dissect any song that was playing. Started to get a feel on what instrument would play next. 27 years old I knew I had to go back to music, it was my calling and purpose in life. In order to take this music career serious I quit drinking alcohol (July 25, 2017). Bought a laptop and downloaded FLStudio. I promised myself that I would produce new music every week and did not care if it sounded good. I knew everything that I produced would be terrible sounding, I didn’t care.

Another three years later… 30 years old now. After producing for three years consistently and still sober. I was teaching myself social marketing, listening to entrepreneur/interview podcasts, and reading self-help books. I can proudly say that music is my career. I am a musician, music producer, and artist. I will never stop creating and I hope you as a reader find your purpose in life.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never going to be a smooth road when you’re pursuing something you love. The only struggle I dealt with was being patient. Creating art takes time and patients.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a music producer and musician. I produce “EDM”, but also produce other genres. I’m mainly proud that I can produce any music genre and I don’t set a barrier for myself.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Consistency, patients, and willing to learn something new everyday.
