We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mandy Lyttle & Sam Rossi. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Mandy & Sam, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Untouchability. We have an air of untouchable-ness that is something you can’t really see, but only feel. That comes from years of being willing to face the mirror even when it really hurts.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Our brand is US. Sam Rossi & Mandy Lyttle are NO APOLOGIES INC. Our entire brand was built from 3 years of Sam crying in the closet about being broke, til one day she decided to do a puzzle instead of worry about money. That was the moment everything changed. She gave up, she reached her breaking point and said, “If I have to have someone else pay my bills for the rest of my life, fuck it. I’m doing a puzzle.” And a multi – six figure company was born.
Now, we show people who are sick of trying to force themselves into shoes that are too small, how to live a life that feels true for them in every moment.
You don’t have to perform to get paid to exist, you just have to be willing to be honest.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Assumptions.
Honesty.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That it’s not necessary to suffer.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
You would only ever experience yourself through your perception of me. Only I know the real me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Mandy: Yes, I created a life by 26 where I had the dream guy, the house, the career…and I was miserable.
Sam: Yes, getting what you want is never satisfying. It’s only ever actually satisfying to appreciate what’s already there.
