Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler “Ace” Cupp.
Hi Tyler, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve fished and hunted my entire life. It’s how I release stress and enjoy nature. I’ve been in the Air Force for eleven years now and It’s still my favorite way to decompress. Through my travels, I’ve gotten to fish and hunt alongside a variety of different outdoorsmen and learn little tricks to hone my skills. As time went on, folks started asking for some tips, and what better way than to show them? That’s when I realized that I really enjoyed showing people what I knew and sharing the hobbies that I love. Word started to spread that I was taking military guys out and requests started trickling in to widen my scope.
Not just my active duty members, but veterans and first responders as well. In doing so, I’ve made connections in the local community as well as on base to assist in providing resources for people dealing with PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other combat-related stresses. My hope is to show them that they can put their mind at ease by enjoying what God has provided for them. What started out as a couple of trips taking my buds out has turned into so much more. Whether it’s something as big as directing them to programs to assist with the struggles they face day to day or something as small as being there and being a friend, I’m grateful to have made an impact in many people’s lives. Thank you to all the people who have supported me and helped make what Green Line Outdoors is today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was smooth for the most part. The struggles at first were to find the right people to support the company’s mission.
It was important that they were helping the business make a difference in people’s lives and not for profit.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Active Duty member in the Air Force stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB Tucson, AZ.
I have been in for 11 years. My job is being an electrician/crew chief for a combat search and rescue unit working on the HH-60 (H)G Pavehawk. I’m proud to of made it through 5 combat deployments and 23 TDYs across the U.S. in support of CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue).
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The passion and drive to help people and simply give thanks to those that have served a greater cause than themselves.
