Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Pham.
Hi Tony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story and motivation started when I learned about my mom’s story and how she made her escape to the US. Along with the amount of mental strength, she adopted to survive. As I grew up, I realized her story was one of many people share in hopes of a better future for themselves and their families. Sharing her mindset to be resourceful and stubborn, I became the first to graduate high school and college, and being resourceful has carried on throughout my life. With different obstacles and challenges I had to face, I approached them from different perspectives, which inadvertently allowed me to connect with people from different backgrounds. This eventually led me to take a leap of faith into starting my own business and focusing on the community that helped me grow through their experiences in life, both young and old.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. My life has never been a smooth path, to begin with so, I find it incredibly suspicious when it is. Fortunately, the number of obstacles I had to face made me resourceful. I learned to adapt quickly and not panic so much, take everything in slowly. The challenges range from dealing with specific projects, people, friends, family, and just life in general, which I feel people could relate to when it unexpectedly comes out of nowhere. More specifically, taking in different advice from different people and narrowing it down to what would work for me. So that led to a lot of experimenting, which I can happily say, many of them weren’t successful. That’s a good thing because it showed me what would eventually work after months of experimenting.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the moment, my main focus is on visual design consisting of illustrations and 3D. I push my work towards education for the next generations and use my craft to help teach the value of storytelling and problem-solving. In a way, it all ties back to learning about science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Which can be a bit boring at times, but my goal is to make it fun through music and colors. All designed to inspire and provoke the imagination to go further.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My best advice for the audience is once you start something, finish it. Even if it is your project, finish it. It does not matter if it looks good or bad or if you want to draw a swoosh to wrap it up. What matters is that you completed your work, which can be difficult for many artists out there to get started. So learning to overcome that through your process will be critical to reaching that next level as you continue to grow. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it at the end of the day.
