Life & Work with Timothy Morgan of PHOENIX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Morgan

Hi Timothy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Originally from West Covina, CA. Moved to Phoenix after a short stint in San Antonio, TX. Chef by trade, A creative at heart, I’ve always loved creating things from nothing whether it be food or clothing. If done well, it can bring people together. I’ve always had an obsession with music, namely, Hip Hop. Since a child, i knew i wanted to be involved in hip hop in some fashion, ironically, i got in through fashion

Special thanks To Chuck Huus and the entire squad down at Trill PHX.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No. Not at all. Not in the slightest. There has been twists, turns, pitfalls, peaks and everything in between, but adversity creates champions. In those tough times, i learned a lot about business, & people, but even more about myself. What started out as a side hustle became my passion project.

Some of struggles aside from the fallout of the pandemic, learning the importance of networking and building strong bonds, sourcing materials, building and living true to a brand that’s all about living truthfully, & authentically forced me to take a long look at myself and face some hard truths.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In april 2019, Started Payaaso Brand. “The World’s most authentic brand”. a Hip Hop Centered Lifestyle and wellness brand. We Specialize in Custom 1 of 1 hand dyed garments, But also have a plethora of non custom items, like beanies, T – shirts, hats, Lifestyle accessories, and much, much more.

Christmas Eve 2019 i landed in phoenix, and hit the ground running. I was presented with the opportunity to be apart of the catering team, taking care of a couple professional sports teams spring training that same year, I remember Bleach dye being popular at the time, i remember playing around with the idea of producing acid wash tees addition to the footwear. Didn’t put much thought into it until a coworker asked me to find some shoes for her and also asked for a custom shirt to go with. That order was the seed of inspiration i needed to kick off what has become a professional dye service and custom garments. Each custom piece is its own unique piece. Much like the person wearing it, there is and will never be any other like it.

How do you think about happiness?
I’m an extremely simple person. I find the most joy out of the little things in life. Something as small as a light breeze on sunny day, or the sounds of birds chirping in the the early hours of the day. I also believe our greatest ability is the service to others. What makes me happy is seeing others happy, especially if that happiness comes from work i have done.
