Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Moneyy.
Hi Tiana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My start begins with honesty about where I am right now and the relationships I’ve fed. The more I spoke about the harsh realities, the more crystallized they became. Personally, there was a time I believed the people around me (best friends, boyfriend, business organizations, fellow entrepreneurs) had a better angle of what my life could be.
Understanding myself through the lens of others forced disengagement as well as an outsider/bittersweet mindset. It was painful to step back and see what I’d been allowing and even more painful to realize I’d had no intention of changing the narrative.
And I mean really stopping. This meant not rekindling harmful relationships, looking beyond material wealth, and working towards who I wanted to be every single day. What I genuinely sought out of my relationships were understanding, tolerance, and appreciation. Rather than that, I was met with punishment, exclusion, and aggression due to my aberrant insight. Leaving me to feel totally humiliated and useless.
When that happens it’s time to move on. It’s so much easier to deal with and see who/where I am in life now that those connections/friendships/influences are gone. With newfound intention and possibilities, I am able to focus on my household and vocation. No masks, no psychological manipulation, no stonewalling — just continuing onward to history with those who accept my experience, credentials, and willpower.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life seems small at times. It’s tough to be who you are 24/7; 365. There’s also a risk in independent thought and movement. Turning my back on the mainstream to follow the teachings of my upbringing and coupling offend those who don’t have peace of mind /emotional freedom outside of social media platforms and career personas.
While my passionate personality may come off as authoritative, it’s always coming from a place of affection, appreciation, and devotion. But no matter the struggles I’ll remain an individual while also recognizing that change is growth.
What do you think about happiness?
Freedom. Being able to focus on one or two things is an advantage these days. Freedom can come in the form of a person, book, opportunity, etc., Take you to places you’ve never dreamed of.
Freedom is the reason I am able to give so generously. Freedom is the reason I don’t look at every opportunity as a meal ticket. Being alive is so much easier when you’re unshackled.
