Today we’d like to introduce you to Teniecka Drake.

Hi Teniecka, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It is always amazing thinking back on when I started my journey. This journey was a journey of faith that I am still on. How my podcast came about from my book. The back story I wrote is a book sharing my overcoming domestic violence with the Lord’s help. The book’s title is called “The Gift of Finding God’s Love: Guilt and shame turned into my shine”.

After releasing that book back in 2018, I wanted to share about the Lord. I have always wanted to sing for the Lord or be on the radio. Now, I am not sure if those things may still happen to me. I did find podcasting and I thought a podcast is close to radio for me. I thought what should I speak about? I thought about the book I had just written. I thought okay God’s Gift Through His Word. After the terrible abusive marriage, God’s word was a true gift to me.

That is how I decided to start podcasting. On January 25, 2023, made my 5 years as a podcaster. The ups and downs in my life can be heard in my podcast. Sometimes tears are shed and other times sharing the word and enjoying the Lord’s grace and mercy. Podcasting has been amazing for me. It has provided me with a community as well as brought me amazing friends. I love sharing on my podcast still today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy. My road shows how it can get rough. Being locked in a psych ward at the hand of your mother is not fun!!! My podcast shares a lot about my struggles. Sometimes opening up about pains that have been held in my mind for decades.

I am enthusiastic about all the ways I can show up. I am being exactly who Lord designed me to be. On my podcast, I show all of my tears, quirks, and all. In the age of social media, you do not see too much reality. A lot of finished beautification of people’s lives. Not a whole lot of ugly and transformation. I am so glad for this space to share. I pray one day a door is opened to bigger platforms and stages.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love the Lord Jesus Christ which is my message. I encourage and share some topics that churches shy away from. One is domestic violence. There are many things we do not speak about. I know that if I do not use whatever platform has been provided to me I not doing as the Lord has called me to do. I use all the gifts given to me to share the Gospel and the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ.

In this world people need someone to believe in and find their hope. All the platforms I am on I share that message. That message is that anyone can be saved. When they repent and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and that God raised him from the dead. Then they will be saved.

No matter what you have done Jesus can save you from sin and the divine wrath of God. I use; clubhouse, wisdom, Spotify, and social media to share this message of hope. In these times we live in we need to call on Jesus’ name.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I did not have many favorite childhood memories. I just enjoyed laughs when there were some. My mother was quite strict. I did like watching anime when I was young.
