Life & Work with Stephen Doak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Doak.

Hi Stephen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have always wanted to be somebody. But I never knew how I could make a name for myself. Until I picked up a camera and started capturing the art of everyday life, and realized I had a natural talent for it.

I see the art behind everything. Last year I decided to teach myself everything I needed to know to create videos/photos so I can show the world how I experience everything by cutting up clips, adding music, color grading, and more.

But above all, my motivation is to make this world a better place through my work. I am a Christian and truly believe that God has blessed me with the talent I have so that I can make a positive change and impact on the world.

Now I do weddings, music videos, and small business promotional work, and have worked with real estate agencies, universities, professional athletes (David Peralta – former AZ Diamondback), and multiple college athletes. A year ago, I did not even know how to change camera settings. To me, it’s an example of God working through my life.

My next goal in this journey is to use my talents to get myself into circles of people that I wouldn’t otherwise have access. I will be shooting footage/pictures for Arizona State Basketball, and also some high-level high school basketball teams out here in the valley. I also now have a motivational videography account which sits at around 800 followers. I plan to grow as much as possible to make a positive impact on people’s lives. You can find that at @all_inmotivationco.

I am looking to work with any motivated entrepreneurs who want to make a difference in the world!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest obstacle I have faced thus far in my entrepreneurship journey is myself.

I have found that I am the only person in my way. No one can stop me except for me. The mind is so much more powerful than we give it credit for. I envisioned myself being successful and in this position to grow going into 2023, and here I am. But again, most importantly, I give all glory to God, because ultimately this talent is not mine and will be used to glorify Him.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being able to see it before it happens. Being able to believe in yourself. Never taking no for an answer, and being relentless. Commit to the process, never get too high, never get too low, and bet on yourself.
