Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Santana.
Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
It was the beginning of the pandemic. I was at home teleworking as a DOD employee located on Luke AFB. I became very unhappy and stressed being closed in. My daily routine was driving me insane.
I applied to an agency called Southwest Model and Talent and was asked to audition. Following my audition, I began training through Barbizon as a model and actress. I signed with SWMT which began my career in the industry. I have been published in multiple magazines, filmed several commercials, worked on a short film and feature plus a lot more exciting things on the way. I was just nominated for a Latina Impact Award for this industry which is pretty exciting!
In January of 2022, I attended IMTA LA and placed in the top 10 for TV Beauty and Commercial Print. I was offered another signing with Manikin Talent Agency which I am now a part of as well. I took a risk, chased a dream I didn’t know could be possible and here I am living it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has not been smooth. There were so many what-ifs and sacrifices. I left my job security behind hoping it wouldn’t leave my family struggling financially. There were fees associated with training and IMTA that were pretty hefty. I was throwing money away without knowing if it would be worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a lifestyle model and actress. I do print work, commercials, and film.
I am known for my modeling which excelled on LinkedIn! I am proud of every SINGLE thing I’ve done. I can’t pick which one I’m most proud of because each one helped me grow into the person I am today. What sets me apart from others is my diverse look. I can play multiple ethnicities from Caucasian, European to Hispanic.
My diverse appearance has helped me in modeling and acting.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see the industry making huge changes based on social influences.
Today, Victorias Secret has rebranded by focusing on women of all sizes. That is just the beginning of what’s to come. People want to see models and actresses of all shapes and sizes! The industry is slowly making its way there which is very exciting.
