Life & Work with Stacy Ayiers-Latimore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Ayiers-Latimore.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started doing event planning for family and friends in 2006. After a few years, I realized how creative I was at it and how much I loved it. I limited myself to weddings & birthdays in 2010 because those were the events I loved to plan the most.

I graduated from ASU with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism in May 2011 then again with a master’s in criminal justice in May 2013. I loved to write and wanted to work for a news station covering crime stories. After a tragedy in 2013, I found myself unable with crime stories and wanted to write with more purpose, so I created A Journalistic View, a blog & bookstore with topics that cover personal growth, food, travel, and love and relationships.

In the tragedy in 2013, my husband was killed and the police had no leads. I wanted to do something that help me work through it so I started the non-profit The Stacy Jewel Foundation. It is a foundation to help people get through grief, depression, and life after death.

Although I have been through a lot in my life, I always learn a lesson and realize that I can do anything I put my mind to. Currently, I own and run 3 businesses, Stacy J Events, A Journalistic View & The Stacy Jewel Foundation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I was 16 I had a stillborn daughter. It made me realize how quickly life can change. I worked hard, went to college, and tried my best to make the best of my life.

Along the way I’ve had family members pass away, friends come and go, and failures at business ventures. That never stopped me from trying my best and doing what I knew my heart needed, which was to work for myself and live my life to the fullest.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Stacy J Events requires me to think outside the box on decor, venues, and the overall event. I love creating the perfect atmosphere for clients.

The Stacy Jewel Foundation allows me to host conferences that help people and work with others who see value in helping others.

A Journalistic View allows me to use my talent and gifts to inspire, motivate and inform others. I write about things I am interested in and it keeps a flame lit in me that most people can’t understand.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I learned was: Failing isn’t a failure, It’s a learning experience for the next time.
