Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Tanner.
Hi Sabrina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was blessed to be at the right place at the right time & met one of my mentors, who is an influencer who brought me on as an intern. I learned all things social media from her & I was so fascinated by the industry I couldn’t help myself from diving deep too. Ever since my internship with her, I went from job to job as a social media manager for many brands & when TikTok came around, I saw the power of posting on it! I always knew social media has power in it & TikTok being the new platform & where all the attention was… I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on!
So because I felt like I had more to share & more people to help, in October ‘21 I posted my first TikTok on my business account! It eventually took off with multiple videos going viral, ultimately bringing me to where I am today! I feel so grateful for everyone I’ve been able to work with over the year and there’s so much more to come!
My job has transformed in many ways, from managing, strategizing, creating UGC, and now I’ve added Weddings & Events to my resume as a Content Creator! It’s all been so surreal and I’m so so grateful!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! I would love to say that I had it all together from the get-go but I definitely had some major learning curves. Learning how to manage my own business while managing multiple social media is definitely a trick! But it’s all worth it.
One specific struggle I’ve had is learning how to continue creating content even when I’m feeling a little burnt out & tired of it all! Creating every day for others was a lot to take on but I also didn’t want to stop creating for myself, so finding time to continue my own content while maintaining deliverables for other brands is definitely something I had to figure out and figure out quickly! I always try to remember where I began and it keeps me grateful for where I am. Which then makes me happier to continue posting to my own page and continue to produce great content for others.
Keeping a heart full of gratitude is something that’s definitely helped me continue on the right track through all the highs and lows!
Learning time management was huge as well as learning to continue through the lows!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I like to call myself a Social Media & Content Specialist!
I teach all things social media as well as create content for others like UGC! I’ll list a few things:
– Organic Growth Strategies
– Engagement Tips
– Transitions to spice up your content
– Content Creator for brands and products
– Content Creator for Weddings & Events
I’m always most proud of any organic growth, whether it’s been for myself or for brands, I really believe there is growth and power in organic growth. No need for paying for ads, just creating a community from the ground up! I love organic growth and I think that’s what really sets me apart! Being knowledgeable about the updates in social media so brands can hop on the opportunity and grow their communities. I’m less about going viral & more about creating community. Virality is just the cherry on top!
On another hand, the content creation side of things is something I’m also really so proud of. I feel like I’ve walked into an industry that has an opportunity that not a lot of people have hopped on, and that is Content Creation for Weddings & Events.
This is something I began this past summer & it’s completely taken off! I’m very much a people person so I feel so grateful to have met so many throughout these events/weddings & I’m passionate about capturing beautiful & candid moments for others! So this is definitely something that is still very much in the works but I’m grateful for where it’s already taken me!
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
A huge tip I have that I have seen work miracles for me is GOOD ENERGY. People want to work with you, for you, and by you when you are someone that just has good energy. Being kind, excited, positive, and having that good energy gives you that extra “IT” factor that I believe helps others excited for your success and only want to support you!
When finding and looking for a mentor, it will come naturally with good energy. You will find someone that sees you as just excited about the work you’re trying to get into & they will take you under their wing. Ask curious questions with that good energy & I promise you will find the right mentor, friends, and people that will help you succeed!
And again, this works the same for networking, people are attracted to good energy & will eventually start to naturally network with you!
