Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan & Stephanie Bloom.

Hi Ryan & Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
We are Stephanie and Ryan Bloom, a husband and wife team that loves working together. Stephanie handles the Photography and Ryan takes care of the Videography, but we each know just enough of each other’s business to lend a hand when needed. In what little spare time he had, Ryan started filming weddings a little over 10 years ago.

After Stephanie experienced working at a wedding, she had the itch to pursue the Photography side. And we’ve been working together ever since. The two of us strive to bring composure and a light-hearted attitude to every wedding we work at. Our ultimate goal is to display the personalities of our bride and groom.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall, it has been a smooth road for us. Our biggest challenge was taking the jump into owning a business and learning all the ins and outs of running your own business. Creating a name for ourselves, in the beginning, was also difficult. Thankfully, we developed relationships with clients and other vendors that helped us market through word of mouth. Eventually business picked up and it has been relatively smooth sailing ever since (except for COVID, of course).

Our business is not our full-time job so there is reduced pressure on us. We can be more selective and opportunistic about how many weddings we take on in a year. Our biggest challenge these days is balancing our time working on the business with our full-time arrangements. We have two young kids and it is important to us to have as good of a work-life balance as we can to make sure that we are still able to spend quality time with them.

Stephanie specializes in Portrait and Wedding Photography. Ryan specializes in Wedding Videography. We are most proud of the relationships we develop with our clients and being able to provide them with an easy-going experience on a day that can be stressful. We are unique in the sense that we are a husband and wife team that works together to cover both photography and videography needs.
