Life & Work with Randi Rae Schaeffer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Rae Schaeffer. 

Randi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2012 I loved watching America’s next top model and wanted to be able to create beautiful images the way that Tyra Banks would with the models and I got me into the Photography industry. I used to use my mom’s camera All throughout high school until I was able to buy my own camera in 2014 when I graduated and started pursuing photography as a business. I’ve had a lot of time over the years to learn new things and grow with my editing skills. Even now in 2022, I am still learning amazing new skills in editing, posing, and the business side of it all. I started photography full-time in Nov 2020. Going through the pandemic with a freshly brought up business, and going full time was a little scary. I had to work extra hard and stay on top of promoting my business because this has always been a dream of mine to have photography as my career. I can thank my two boys (5 years old & 2 years old) for pushing me to become my own boss and have my own hours so I can have more time with them growing up and being a part of their lives more instead of staying at a 9-5 job. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy trying to get the business side of my Photography together. In 2014 I had done it part-time/as a hobby because I didn’t realize how much work I would have to put into making it my full-time career. I am so thankful that I finally made the jump and did it. I am a much happier person even though it does get very stressful being a single mom and running a business. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With photography, I specialize in Boudoir, engagement, weddings, elopement, Quinceañeras, senior sessions, families, Birthing Photography, and maternity. 

I am Mostly known for Boudoir, maternity, and weddings. Since my studio is based mostly in the Boudoir aspect and Maternity sessions. Over the past year, I’ve collected over 50 items for my client wardrobe. 

I think what sets me apart from others is being able to get a really good relationship with my clients and most of the time my clients become good friends of mine because I said high standards on getting to know my clients so that they have the best experience during their sessions. 

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love when anyone takes behind-the-scenes photos or videos because that is such a huge way to support me by sharing Those images or sharing any of my social media links. Word of mouth seems to be such a huge way of bringing in new clients. 

With collaborating it is such a fun time creating new content and capturing beautiful images.
