Life & Work with Randall Downs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randall Downs

Randall, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Loser’s Way Home formed in 2009. The band has changed through the years but still pursuing the same purpose… making music we love and sharing it with fans around the world. The band started in Memphis, TN and is now based in Phoenix, AZ. The latest release, “Immigrant Song,” is a great indicator of the folk and songwriter stylings of the band.
LWH will release more singles throughout the year, with hopes of releasing a new full-length record within the next year.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been enjoyable. It has certainly been a learning experience. Writing and performing music is fun and easy, however the other aspects of “being a band” are tough. Learning the business and promotional side of the industry is challenging but worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Loser’s Way Home writes and performs songs that tell powerful stories. One of our proudest creations is “Of a Once Great King.” This is an album that tells a congruent story of King Saul’s life as documented in the Bible.
When one has a great story, it makes it easy to write.
We have a very distinctive sound that separates us from other groups.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Promote. We always made music for our enjoyment, but it’s important to have visibility and connection with fans. If we want to make an impact through our music, we must put in the work to promote and market.
