Life & Work with Noah Layne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Layne

Hi Noah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being an Artist wasn’t the way I thought my life would go. I grew up in a household where taking the stable financially responsible route was always the best option. I didn’t discover the arts until I was a senior in high school. I remember meeting with my counselor to discuss my senior year classes. It turned out I wasn’t set to graduate since I still hadn’t any art electives. Going through the list I decided on Theater thinking it would be the easy choice. Little did I know that decision determined the direction for the rest of my life. I fell in love with theater, I decided to go to Community College instead of University to study acting. In between acting classes I taught myself how to play piano and sing. From there, I got involved in the independent film scene and booked gigs in Los Angeles. Most notably working with David Caruso and TJ Espinoza. In regard to my music, I’ve accumulated over 200k streams on Spotify between my two songs “with me” and “Bring It On”. I recently released my latest music video for “Bring It On” which is currently at 67k views! The reality is it doesn’t matter how you start. You just need to start! I could never have predicted the road that I am on today. But I never stopped even when I faced criticism, doubters in my art, or the voice in my head that told me I’d never make it. All you need to do is show up because you never know where it can lead.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No matter what you choose to do it won’t be smooth sailing. Being in the arts is always a rocky path. It’s incredibly subjective and small percentage of people can support themselves with their art. Acting and music didn’t come to me naturally. It took hours and hours of dedication and practice. I remember when I was first learning how to sing and my mom told me “Noah you’re a good actor but I don’t think music is your thing”. Before you get upset with my mom she was right. I was a terrible singer who couldn’t hear pitch and she was trying to protect me. Despite the reality of the situation I continued to practice and improve. And soon enough I was releasing my own music that achieved over 100k streams. There is always going to be obstacles with what you set out to achieve. Sometimes your own family out of love lol. You need to be your own anchor and bet on yourself. I developed an unfounded belief in myself to achieve my dreams. And nothing was going to stand in my way. I truly believe that passion and drive is a necessity. You can’t control the hurdles that come up in life. What you can control is how you respond to it. There will never be a single reason to give up on yourself. Ever.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Actor Singer-Songwriter who’s worked on stage and in film. I’ve done a number of gigs across Phoenix Arizona and Los Angeles. Most notably working with David Caruso, Robert Conway, and TJ Espinoza. As a musical artist, I’ve achieved over 200k streams for my two songs “with me” and “Bring It On”. I released my latest music video for “Bring It On” which has garnered over 67k view on Youtube. I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. As artist I strive to create from being my most authentic self. This usually stems from trauma or pain. But hey lol whatever works right. I always look forward to growing and becoming something more. It’s my thirst for living that has always fueled me and the art I aspire to create.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I would not be the person I am today without the guidance and support of many wonderful people in my life. I would like to recognize all my best friends who I met while acting in college. The love and support they provide on a daily basis always inspires me to do better. My mentor TJ Espinoza who opened a world of possibilities and fuels my passion for the art that I create. Robert Conway and Brendan Butler for their expertise in the film industry. And to all of the talented artists I’ve had the privilege to work with thus far.
