Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikayla Dukich

Hi Mikayla , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My career in the hair industry started on the East Coast. I’ve trained and evolved my career at a high end spa and med spa. Taking on new roles and teaching others how to cut and style hair. Along with client relationships and building good customer service skills. After 9 years of building a clientele my dreams shifted. Things in my personal life changed and that lead me to making some shifts in my environment. I had traveled to Arizona many times and needed the sunshine. I have now found the cutest salon that I feel at home in. A place I can offer my services and people are excited to come into. Moving to a thriving city like Phoenix has been a refreshing experience. I have been able to connect and reach more like minded people in business and friendships.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There’s always challenges when you’re leveling up and choosing to do more for your life. I would say moving to a place by myself has given me confidence to go out into the world and make new connections and build relationships that help promote growth in the communities. But with that said those are the same struggles with finding support and community that believes in the same values and things you want to see happen in the world.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work behind the chair in a hair salon. I specialize in blonding and grey blending. I’m very passionate about cutting hair and creating shapes and styles the suit people’s lifestyle and face shape. Along side the art of hair design I am proud that I create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable and heard. I pride myself on being a judgement free zone and offering a listening ear to clients many challenges. I use my intuitive guidance to customize each person’s experience to fit their needs and goals.

How do you think about happiness?
Happiness to me is peace and contentment. Personally that means slow mornings and mindful practices. Things that nourish my mind and body. I enjoy social interactions that bring intellectual stimulation and create curiosity. Nature also makes me happy. Being on the lake or out on a hike sight seeing brings me much satisfaction.
