Life & Work with Melissa June of Phoenix, AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa June.

Hi Melissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my career with the masters and education. After teaching for seven years in high school and college, I retired to be a stay home Mom. My entrepreneurial journey began shortly there after with a family business where I learned my knack for marketing and created a unique alignment model integrating community outreach initiatives that scale business and create lasting impact on the community.
After my kids went to school, I became a marketing executive for a legal advertising company integrating my alignment model in the legal industry. In 2022, however, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing a complete shift and reset.

I found myself fully dedicated to health and wellness searching and seeking as many strategies, treatments, and modalities that assisted in my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health and wellness searching being.
That’s when I fully stepped into the world of content creation and creative direction as many of the administrators and facilitators of these life changing and saving modalities are lost in marketing and their work struggles getting into the lives of those who need them the most.
I have seen firsthand how telling the right story—visually, emotionally, and strategically—could change everything. I have seen how powerful alignment is in a brand and a business and when done in conjunction with a solid marketing strategy, and outreach initiatives, how effective it can be.
I now help individuals, brands, and nonprofits communicate who they are and what they do in ways that move people to act. From producing podcasts and retreats to building aligned communities and experiences, my work is rooted in authentic brand building aligning purpose, product, and community.

Creative direction is the future of communication. We’re no longer in an age where a resume speaks louder than your presence, your voice, and your story. I help people share who they are and what they do with the world—and I only work with people who are committed to creating impact and leaving this world a better place.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m not sure there is such a thing as a smooth road, and if there was, I’m not sure I would be interested in choosing that path.
I have survived a teenage pregnancy, several career shifts, a failing business, cancer, a divorce, 3 children, and the evolution of technology and AI, as someone who hardly conceptualized how the Internet worked.
It was when I learned that the struggle didn’t have to mean suffering that my life and mindset and perspective, and ultimately my business began to shift.

The struggle is what makes the journey interesting, once you learn to stop trying to control the flow.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a producer and creative director, and I help entrepreneurs, philanthropist, and businesses align who they are with what they do, strategize, and develop community outreach initiatives that amplify their mission and their purpose, and ultimately communicate and collaborate with the people, products, and places that support them along the way

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is peace, inspiration, and freedom.
To do what you love, be aligned with what you do, and create the capacity to have impact in the world
