Life & Work with Marika Meeks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marika Meeks.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Marika Meeks thought she had everything life could offer: two amazing daughters, a loving and supportive husband, and a successful, profitable career. Suddenly, what she thought was her utopian life came to a screeching halt after being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Death was a real possibility and the family, in particular, Marika, started falling apart. But, Marika, beat the odds and survived and realized that she needed to make the most of her second chance at life. She didn’t know where to start until she felt the universe pulling her to adopt a pit bull. Little did she know the powerful and positive force @IncrediBullStella would bring to their lives and guide Marika towards her true life purpose. Marika and Stella are always working on advocacy issues and have partnered with the City of Phoenix and are committed to fostering dogs at risk of euthanasia. Can you give our readers some background on your work?
Our family helps “One Dog At A Time” – we bring an at-risk dog into our home and help rehabilitate them so they can go on to be great pets. We share each dog’s journey through with our audience on social media and find dogs homes all over the country.

Although every story we tell is about a dog, what we do really isn’t about dogs necessarily. The dogs are a conduit, and with their stories, we reach people around the world and give them hope… One Dog At A Time.

Our family is bound and determined to pay forward my second chance at life, by giving dogs a second chance too.

How do you think about success and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success to me is how we impact our audience. It is very rewarding to know that we are helping not just dogs, but people too. When they reach out and share their stories, it is very touching, not to mention inspiring. It is also rewarding when our stories get picked up in the national news, or by platforms such as HGTV, Animal Planet, and The Dodo.
