Life & Work with Kwame Samuel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kwame Samuel.

Hi Kwame, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started making music in my hometown when I was a teen, I struct my first endorsement deal with a local company which led to a local tv show that was aired weekly.

After a few years, I left my hometown to pursue a bigger audience, landed in NY in 2008 moved around a bit haven’t looked back since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, and I don’t expect it to be. Let me explain a little more, for one when I first started no one in my hometown believed that success was even possible.

Coming from a tough background my mom passed away when I was 13 years old and I was homeless for a lot of years of my life. I was born in a small country called St. Kitts people usually just live a simple life there. I couldn’t get funding to start, I worked a lot of mediocre jobs.

And most of the time I got fired cause I was always working on Ideas at work.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Artist/Producer. I go by the stage name RedRobe I’m mostly known in my hometown as Dagah (pronounced DahGah).

I specialize mostly in making records but I’m also a dope businessman and promoter. I’m most proud of my music, to be honest even if I don’t make a dime.

I think what sets me apart from others is my drive, my openness to go to new places and start from scratch, I have the ability to rebuild and make something become valuable.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Always have a plan, and never get comfortable. To always know where I’m going next, and get things signed on paper, word of mouth can change at times.

Always invest and last but not least get cocky be humble as fast as it comes, it can leave with the same speed ever faster.
