Life & Work with Kayla Moose of Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Moose

Hi Kayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an affinity for art in any form. I’ve worked with several mothers and families over the past 7 years. My story began in 2017. I started modeling for local creatives in my hometown of Las Vegas, NV. I appreciated how the Photographers I worked with early on were able to bring out the most confident version of myself. I knew I wanted to give the same gift to others of seeing their most empowered selves through the lens. Since I had experience modeling, posing my clients came natural to me. Feeling inspired, in college I served as the Campus Photographer while pursuing my business degree in accounting.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No journey worth pursuing is without challenge. Challenge builds character. While in college, I juggled being a multi-faceted creative and business major. Despite long hours studying accounting, I knew I would not be fulfilled without making space for Photography. God has always put the desire on my heart to create art and pursue storytelling through digital imagery. However, once the pandemic hit, I graduated College, moved to Los Angeles and began pursuing a rather demanding career in Finance. For a few years there, I struggled to find the time to pick up my camera. It was not until God called me to move to Arizona that I had space to create art again. In 2022, I met other creatives within my local community, started serving at church as a Photographer on the media team, then Kayla Rose Photos, LLC was born. I love getting to evoke emotion and help others see their beauty from my perspective. Finding my way back to Photography felt aligned !

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in Motherhood, Family & Couples Photography. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I put diversity at the forefront of my business. As a woman of color, I know what goes into editing skin tones true to color ! My art is multicultural and that is something I take pride in. My style is BOLD, EMOTIVE and VIVID. I am not afraid to shoot in color. I have a distinct and cohesive style that emphasizes intimate, emotive, and visually striking images. My work is characterized by a blend of natural beauty, emotional depth, and artistic expression. Many of my photos incorporate natural settings and elements, such as lush greenery, water, and scenic landscapes. This focus on nature adds a serene and organic feel to the end product, enhancing the beauty of the overall photo. There is a sense of spontaneity in my work as I tend to capture candid moments that feel genuine and unscripted. What sets me apart from others is the intentionality behind every session. The experience working with me will be fun, warm and inviting. I know the importance of finding a Photographer who is genuinely invested in your story, cares about who you are and has genuine passion for serving others. I take pride in the community we’ve been able to create. It is rewarding to have the opportunity to serve the same families year over year.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Faith has been the most important factor to success. Having the understanding that there is a bigger purpose to this thing called life, has strengthened my capacity to “Let Go and Let God”. It is imperative to use the gifts and talents God has given each and every one of us. Although I envisioned having a lifelong career in Finance, God had a different plan. To play a small part in preserving family heirlooms is a blessing. Photography is the reason why a family can have an image in their home that evokes joy. Starting and maintaining a business takes FAITH in God. I cannot wait to see how he uses me in 2025. I do not take this job lightly. It is rewarding to be able to capture moments of family and motherhood. When family members pass on, photos are all we’ve got to carry on their legacy.
