Kalpana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am Kalpana, From my childhood, I’ve always loved to unleash my inner creativity into all types of arts (fabric painting, candle art, painting on a canvas, etc.). Particularly, I took interest in applying henna to my friends and family. Even though I was an engineering graduate from a reputed university and also a certified software professional, I preferred to choose henna artwork due to my artistic mind.

As I got older, I discovered henna art and I knew that I had found my passion. I started doing more and more with my friends, and because of the encouraging feedback that I got, I wanted to pursue a henna career. Soon, a plethora of people started recognizing my work and contacting me. The thought of diverting my passion into a career and at the same time, seeing the joy on people’s faces after I did my henna work is what drove me to start my own business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Just like any other entrepreneur, I have faced many difficulties while building up my business. Starting a business professionally is not an easy task, initially faced challenges in marketing and gradually started getting orders through previous client referrals and social media. I overcame such challenges with my quality work.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My specialization includes customizing the design according to my client’s requirements. I take every bridal design as a challenge and try to give the best experience to my customers.

I provide henna art service for Bridal, Bridal shower parties, Birthdays, Anniversaries, and corporate events. As safety is my first priority for my customers I use natural henna and natural ingredients which gives a perfect dark stain.

What matters most to you? Why?
Personally, what matters to me the most is a happy customer. I always value my customers and make sure each client has the best experience. Seeing a satisfied client is what I look forward to the most in my career!
