Life & Work with Julio Martinez of Phoenix AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julio Martinez

Hi Julio, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started in 2007 when I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in Mexico. After a year of chemotherapy, the doctors spoke to my mother and wife to give them the news that I would only have 3 to 6 months to live.
After almost 9 months the miracle happened, my body began to recover and after many studies the same doctors who had treated me gave us the news that the cancer had miraculously disappeared. So I promised to use the rest of my life to help and serve those in need.
After some time I founded, together with my wife, the non-profit organization “Rescuing the Valuable” giving conferences on moral values with topics such as “The power of Attitude”, “Teamwork”, “Organizational development”, “Strategic planning ” among others.
After helping thousands of young people with conferences and workshops, we were invited to produce and direct a television program in which we had broadcasts for a year.
In 2014 we moved to Washington DC to start working helping the Hispanic community where we worked for more than 8 years establishing a food pantry for the George Town South community in Manassas Virginia. We were advisors to the organization “Youth for Tomorrow” where we served hundreds of children and young people who arrived in the United States without the support of their parents or a family member.
In 2018 I attended a camp for men called “Legendarios” in Washington DC, which was a complete turning point in my life, family and work. My wife and I had a radio show for two years helping the Hispanic Community.
In December 2020, after facing the COVID-19 pandemic, I write my first book “Rescued” where I share part of my life, my ups and downs and how God saved me, health me and rescued me. I sold thousands of books receiving a lot of testimonies of life change.
On the same year, We received the opportunity to move to the beautiful city of Phoenix Arizona where we established the non-profit organization “Legendarios Arizona INC” organizing camps for men, where more than 200 men have attended; having a transformation in their lives, marriages and families.
We have organized 3 woman’s conferences, 4 concerts in the city to promote family unity and the establishment of Moral Values.
In 2021 we officially established the Legendarios Arizona Food Pantry, currently serving more than 100 families per week. In 2023, we were able to deliver more than 4,000 boxes of food, with an approximate cost of more than $488,000. impacting more than 4,000 families and reaching more than 18,000 individuals.
We also work as partners of different organizations helping low-income children, giving them beds, cribs, blankets, clothes, diapers, milk, etc. In 2023 we helped prevent 73 children from entering the adoption system.

Our vision is to expand to be a palpable help in our community. Helping men, women, children and young people by elevating their lives to a new level of Love, Honor and Unity.

Today Legendarios Arizona has more than 100 volunteers in the state of Arizona ready to serve our community.

Where there is a need, there must be a “Legendary”

Julio Martinez
General Director
Legendarios Arizona INC.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have several programs in development.
– We need industrial refrigerators and freezers
– We are developing a program to choose three children or young people to give them sports scholarships
– Resources for expanding the food pantry room

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a Degree of Business Administration.

I truly enjoy teaching and motivating people to live to their fullest potential.
Help and love those most in need.

I believe I have been in great need and I understand those who are in need.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
The biggest risk is always doing something that others are not willing to do.
Dare to be original and transparent regardless of criticism or controversy. We are living in a time of different points of view, concepts and different opinions. Being who we have to be and doing what we have to do and being where we have to be, is a challenge and a very important challenge that I will always be willing to do for the good of others.
