Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Schultheis.

Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As an aspiring artist fresh out of college, I didn’t really know where my life or career was going. My degree is in animation and 3D motion graphics, so there weren’t a whole lot of jobs in Arizona.

In 2015, I was given the opportunity to do visuals for a few weekly events in Flagstaff, AZ at a venue called the Green Room. After doing it for a while I hooked, and my alter ego FaceMelter was born. From then, I went on to work for companies like Relentless Beats and Culture Shock entertainment. This allowed me to do visuals and lighting for one of the world’s most famous DJs and bands.

I now have in Tempe, AZ and work heavily in the music industry with my own company side by side with some major national businesses like Rhino staging, Video West, Relentless Beats, and Insomniac. The Arizona music scene has been a kind of a wild ride. And I look forward to more years bringing the best production I can to all the events I’m involved with.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been an uphill battle. I’ve lost friends and family in the process. But staying focused and believing in my art and the process has helped me achieve every goal I’ve set out for.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for making and performing some of the most “Face Melting” light shows and visuals in Arizona. Ad well as Is curating and executing legendary parties and events.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories are finding new art and trying my hardest to replicate it. I grew up in the years before the internet so finding new art was looking for new magazines, publications, local, and national art forums.
