Life and Work with Joshua Bondurant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Bondurant.

Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in my bedroom working a job I hated & I sat on this idea for a while and I finally brought it to life. I always loved fashion especially a comfortable fashion where it looks like you aren’t trying but when people see you, they think your outfit looks good. I watched countless videos & read countless articles on what I should and shouldn’t when I start my clothing line. The day I dropped my first line of my brand, I got fired from my job and at that point I knew this what I was supposed to do. Fast forward to today, after dealing with all the trial and error the ups and downs that nobody really gets to see, I’ve learned to fall in love with the process and I wouldn’t want my life any other way. I just want to live the best life I can possibly live and do that with the people I care about the most, thats what I think about when I think of 444puresoul.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it hasn’t been the bumpiest either. It’s been a few struggles along the way like mailing issues, unexpected things that you can’t control, materials being out of stock, and so on but dealing with all of those issues is part of the business. Most struggles can be fixed with time but in this business, you don’t really have too much to play with. The best way to avoid most of the struggles is to plan ahead and don’t do anything last minute.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My clothing brand is called 444puresoul and I make clothes that’s fly for everybody. I work on my brand everyday and starting to expand to work with others to start their brands. I specialize in social media and knowing what looks good and what doesn’t. I’m constantly learning more and more about fashion and fabric etc. People know me for my clothes because all I wear is my brand and I appreciate all the love I get that’s honestly what I’m the most proud of, is that people actually like what I make and most of the people that purchase from me don’t even know me so it’s a good feeling for real.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The apps I’ve used religiously are Instagram and Youtube. Youtube especially teaches you things you didn’t even know you needed to know. I would honestly have to big thank you to everybody I’ve met in Phoenix to Liz and APC and many others that played a role in my doing my best at my work.
