Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Clark.
Hi Joseph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started out just taking random pictures on my phone, editing them through different apps just trying to be as creative as I could. Not really thinking OH YEAH I WANT TO DO PHOTOGRAPHY, just having fun. During Covid, I decided to pick up a hobby I picked up a Nikon D5600 and took a picture almost every single day experimenting with as many genres of photography as I could think of.
When I realized that photography was something I wanted to do I took a course with the New York Institute of Photography Professional Photography. I wouldn’t say that this made me a professional but it helped give me a guideline on things I need to learn.
After I graduated that the course I did free shoots for a while to help get my name out there and have been doing nonstop for the last 2 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all, especially just starting out in the game sometimes I have to remind myself I’ve only been a photographer for 3 years. I’m constantly learning with each client how to make things even more fun, exciting, and efficient for all.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to call myself a multi-faceted photographer, my content is diverse from landscape to street photography but my main focus is portraits. I love capturing the essence of people.
I’m most proud of being in this position where more people and businesses see me as someone to trust with their photos, whether it be for a wedding, family, event, or headshots.
