Life & Work with Jeanette (Jett) Arredondo of Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanette (Jett) Arredondo.

Hi Jett (Jeanette), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been an artist all of my life. I come from a very creative family. My dad is an artist, my mom is crafty and creative, and my brother is an artist. My dad always tried to push me to grow my talent. He wanted me to take art classes and make a profession from it, but I wasn’t interested in it. I was determined to be a nurse. After taking all the prerequisites for nursing and passing the entrance exam, I found myself hesitant to apply to the program. I knew nursing wasn’t my true path, so I dove head-first, followed my artistic talents (and my dad’s advice), and became a graphic designer.

I am grateful for a career path that allows me to continue to help people, and I couldn’t be happier. My dad never hesitates to tell me, “I told you so.” After several years working in the industry, I am now the Owner + Founder + Creative for JDesigns, and Mama to my beautiful little design assistant- Josie. I am beyond thankful to have the opportunity to work from home, build my business, and raise my daughter. Life is good!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a business owner is always challenging. I’m working more now than I ever did before! There is a constant ebb and flow of struggles, triumphs, wins, and challenges. Every part of owning and running a small business is worth it.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a small business owner driven by big goals and an even bigger heart for service. I have been a graphic designer and photographer for 9 years, specializing in Branding and Website Design. JDesigns is a “can-do” brand. We take a proactive approach and can tackle anything and everything from logo design, to photography, website design, apparel graphics, embroidery, print, and everything in between. There is no design or print need too big to solve. We can do it all.

I am a contractor for Local First Arizona and have the honor of helping small businesses in my community. I love crafting strong brands and getting to know the badass humans behind them. No two humans or brands are the same. I value human connection, raw emotion, and challenging the norm. JDesigns is a family-run business. Myself, Jett (Owner): Founder + Creative, Junior (my husband): Head of Security, and Josie (my daughter): The Boss. Powered by grit and authenticity, this is what JDesigns is made of.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to continue to grow my business. I am currently looking to hire a graphic design assistant to help me with the day-to-day graphics and eventually would love to hire an entire team to help me continue to build badass brands.
