Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Applegath.
Hi Jane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My professional career began in the stock brokerage business, where burnout was a badge of honor and storytelling, not spreadsheets, was my real edge. The money was great. The hustle was soul-numbing. I walked away before it swallowed me whole.
I chased storytelling into film and television, qualifying screenplays for the Phoenix Film Festival. From there, I stepped into producing a weekly TV series on punishing weekly schedules until I burned out again. That collapse became my rebellion.
Yoga, mindfulness, and consciousness didn’t just rescue me; they rewired me. I became a Yoga Instructor and a lifelong student of mind, body, spirit, and energy.
Then the pandemic pushed me from behind the lens to in front of the camera. Terrified. Unpolished. Unstoppable. It was putting on my big-girl pants and facing the audience.
In 2025, I became an Amazon Best-Selling Author, with an anthology titled “Mastery Unleashed,” that tells the story of overcoming, persevering, and reinventing the unforgiving hurdles life throws at you.
Today, my passion is hosting my podcast, Epic Vision Zone, where big ideas meet extraordinary leaders. I don’t chase trends, I amplify truth, vision, and voices bold enough to rewrite the rules. This is where visionaries step forward, and their stories change the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve always said, “Life is a Practice.” And the magic isn’t found but rather discovered through practice.
My path has been a series of reinventions, each one sparked by burnout, fear, or the quiet realization that I had outgrown the life I was living. The brokerage industry taught me discipline and resilience, but it also taught me what happens when success comes at the cost of your soul.
Film and television fed my love of storytelling, yet the grind was relentless and unsustainable. Each chapter looked successful from the outside, but internally, I kept hitting the same wall: exhaustion, misalignment, and the sense that I was meant for something more.
The biggest struggle wasn’t failure; it was having the courage to walk away from things that worked to answer what felt true. Stepping in front of the camera, launching Epic Vision Zone, and trusting my own voice were some of the most uncomfortable moves I’ve ever made, but they became the most defining.
Every struggle forced me to choose alignment over approval, and that choice changed everything.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At the heart of my work is self-discovery through vision. I’m the founder and host of Epic Vision Zone, a global podcast and platform where big ideas meet extraordinary leaders. I specialize in showing people, especially women at pivotal life and career crossroads, how to reclaim their voices, rewrite their inner narrative, and step fully into their greatest life chapter with clarity and conviction. The door to your most extraordinary self has always been there. I show people how to walk through it.
My background spans finance, film, television, mindfulness, neuroscience, and consciousness studies, which allows me to bridge worlds that are rarely connected: strategy and soul, storytelling and science, ambition and alignment.
I’m known for asking the questions that cut through surface success and get to what actually drives fulfillment, leadership, and impact. What I’m most proud of is creating a space where people feel seen, challenged, and expanded, where conversations don’t just inspire, but genuinely shift how someone sees themselves and their potential.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach from theory; I teach from lived reinvention. I’ve walked away from multiple “successful” lives to build one that’s true. I understand burnout, fear, and reinvention from the inside out, and I bring that depth into every conversation, interview, and platform I create. Epic Vision Zone isn’t about chasing gossip and trends; it’s about helping people remember who they are and giving visionary voices the space to lead from that truth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t think of luck as something that happens to us; I think of it as something we participate in. What looks like “good luck” is usually the result of being willing to move before you feel ready, to say yes when it’s uncomfortable, and to stay curious instead of cynical. And what people call “bad luck” has often been my greatest teacher: burnout, wrong turns, closed doors, each one redirecting me toward something more aligned.
Every major turning point in my life came after something fell apart. Leaving the brokerage business, burning out in television, stepping in front of the camera terrified, none of that felt lucky at the time. But each moment forced me to choose awareness over autopilot and intention over fear. Over time, I’ve learned that when you do the inner work, clarifying your values, trusting your intuition, and staying open, opportunities begin to meet you halfway.
So if there’s such a thing as luck, I believe it’s created at the intersection of readiness, courage, and alignment. I don’t wait for it. I meet it.
