Life & Work with Isaac Ford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Ford.

Hi Isaac, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
For a long time, creating a music project like The Remedy had been a dream of mine. A band that gave freedom to express the thoughts and emotions of each member including myself. However, this didn’t come to fruition until about one year ago when I first met the current drummer of The Remedy, Jamison Parker.

The two of us started brainstorming ideas for a new band that could encompass a wide range of genres in a unique package. It wasn’t long until we brought on our talented lead guitarist, Jesse Espinoza, and later additional members including Zoe Ford and Seth Gonzales. What started as a dream soon became a 5-piece ensemble doing our best to push the boundaries of popular contemporary music.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We are very blessed to have a supportive fan base and community. Like many other musicians, we have faced financial battles, but regardless we always have pulled through. The five of us have been committed to making this thing happen and with that, nothing can get in our way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I take the most pride in the lyrics and meaning behind the songs I write for The Remedy. Recently I have been working on a concept album with hopes of having it recorded and released to the public by next summer. The album is through the lens of the life of one who struggles to fit society’s expectations. I think what sets my work apart from other musicians is the combination of memorable motives and melodies with a somewhat complex harmonic structure.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
As a musician, it is important to get out in the community and start making a name for yourself. Too many artists find themselves trapped in their rooms trying to perfect their products while never making a name for themselves. There are certain songs and parts of our journey that aren’t perfect in my book, but I’m glad we’ve made the progress we have so far by getting out and being a part of the scene here in Phoenix.
