Today we’d like to introduce you to Genevieve Ehrbright.

Hi Genevieve, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today.Where does your story begin?
Hello Voyage Phoenix and thank you for choosing me to be featured in your magazine!

My story begins in a small town on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. I grew up in a family deeply rooted in music and art.
When I was 2 the violin found me…my mother describes the moment as I heard it being played at the concert, finding me completely enchanted and mesmerized by the sound. When I was old enough, my parents decided I should go to a music school in Abkhazia. Even at a young age, it was clear to them that a music career was my calling in life. Happily immersed in the joys of growing up in “paradise” as a teenager, little did I know what life-changing events were in my near future! Civil war broke out in my home country, which forced me to flee, leaving my family and home behind. After an escape and an adventurous journey I landed in Moscow, Russia an unknown country without my family. All alone in a new land, I was driven and determined to follow my passion. The thrill of being an explorer once again encouraged me to move. This time it was to St. Petersburg, Russia. I applied and was admitted to the illustrious Rimsky-Korsakov Music College and then the St. Petersburg State Conservatory to pursue music professionally. Nurtured as a classically-trained violinist, I could not have imagined myself any different than a deeply traditional classical violinist or never the less on the move again! And once more, a new journey ahead. Music brought me on my next adventure to the U.S. It is here that I started exploring various music genres and found myself enjoying the world of entertainment. This journey has shaped me into the versatile violinist I am today.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I was fortunate to have had a fairly smooth road, even though it was truly adventurous. Reflecting on my journey, I think of dedication, drive, creativity, and inspiration. Embracing challenges like learning English, exploring a new culture, building new network of friends, and calling the U.S. my home has led me to where I am today. Coming across the world to pursue my career taught me that dreaming big is an absolute and that working efficiently leads to success. I am grateful for the consistent guidance and mentorship that have given me the necessary knowledge and skills to reach where I am now.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you are currently focused on?
I am a solo electric and acoustic violinist. I play with tracks and for all events. It includes weddings, private parties, corporate events, grand openings, sports events, fashion shows, red carpet events and many more other occasions. My primary goal is to elevate every event by providing the highest quality performance that captures the elegance and desired mood of the occasion. I am driven to make any event I perform at an experience to remember not only for the host, but also for all the attendees. Music, after all, is a catalyst for creating a beautiful and lively atmosphere at any event. My ability to read the mood of an event and adjust delivers an entertaining performance that leaves a lasting impression on the audience. I am adept at many styles as a soloist including classical, jazz, pop, and rock, but am also experienced in jiving with classical and rock guitarists, drummers, cellists, pianists, vocalists, chorus, DJs, as well as leading orchestras and a wide range of chamber groups.

The success of an event depends on every detail, and my goal is to ensure that my performance plays an important role in the overall experience. It is an honor to have the opportunity to bring joy and make memories through my music, the language of the soul.

Can you talk to us about what you think about taking risks?
Throughout my career as a musician, I have learned that taking risks is a crucial component of growth. Stepping outside of my comfort zone has pushed me beyond traditional ways and unleashed wildness and freedom as an artist. Whether exploring a new genre or trying a new approach to performing, every risk brings new growth opportunities. I encourage everyone to push beyond their fears and take calculated risks, as the reward can be immeasurable.

Through perseverance and willingness to experiment, we can achieve great things and discover our full potential.
