Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen Marrs.
Hi Ellen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi there! I’m a busy “momtrepreneur”, traveling the country with my husband, our seven children, and our dog, Moses. There was a time in my life when I didn’t even allow myself to dream about living this free and adventurous lifestyle we now enjoy. At some point in my life, I had stopped dreaming and I didn’t even realize it. About a decade ago, my life changed when I learned the power of setting (and getting) my goals. In the summer of 2012, I attended an event where we were encouraged to write down our dreams and goals at that time in our life. I wasn’t even sure about my dreams or how to accomplish my goals. That one event and exercise led me to a decade of learning and growing in setting and achieving my personal and professional goals. I further developed my process and action plan for goal attainment with each new accomplishment. Now, I teach and train others in this proven process so that they too can experience a life of “dreams come true.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The process of achieving big goals is not an easy one. With any goal, there are always ups and downs along the way. For example, I tried for six years to run the Boston Marathon. I experienced various setbacks, including physical injury and other limiting situations. Both external and internal circumstances delayed my progress and ability to run the most epic road race ever. Whether it was self-doubt or critics who didn’t understand my desire and willingness to succeed, I had plenty of roadblocks to overcome on the road to Boston.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I teach and train people in a specific process that transforms them from distracted and discouraged goal “setters” to focused and fearless goal GETTERS. My four-step process encompasses a variety of components, including a strong and supportive community from around the world. I am currently a three-time Boston Marathon finisher and a record-breaking fundraiser for various non-profit organizations. I utilize my past experiences, teaching abilities, and background to train people on how they can harness the power of their minds, the resiliency of their faith, and the strength of their relationships to WIN in life. My greatest successes now are when our Goal Getters Global community members achieve their own personal and professional goals.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Our world is changed for the better when people set and achieve their own goals, individually and collectively. Lives are changed on various levels when dreams are converted to goals and goals are accomplished for the greater good of society. Everything from new inventions, new organizations, and new communities are birthed from dreams and goals that were once jotted down in a journal or on a random piece of paper. We are only getting bigger and stronger as people link arms to support one another in achieving goals. In the last few years, I’ve seen an even greater shift in more individuals taking their dreams seriously and going through the process to realize them. More people are becoming empowered and supported in their journey to success, regardless of the goal. Our community, Goal Getters Global, will continue to grow as a powerful resource for anyone wanting to achieve their dreams and goals that previously seemed impossible.
