Life & Work with Dennis Tiggs of Duluth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Tiggs.

Hi Dennis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I go by “D.Tigg$,” from Milwaukee, WI. I started doing music in middle school with a group of friends. It started small but eventually grew to be something we all were serious about. Fast forward a few years after graduating high school, I decided to move to Atlanta for better music opportunities. One of my homeboys from the music group back home also chose to come (Bizness Boi). We made music out of a 1 bdr apartment for almost a year. Bizness Boi finally got a big placement that skyrocketed his career, I linked up with a producer named DrumzandRosez, and that’s where I got my 1st hit, “READY FOR WAR.” I didn’t know that song would do what it did when I was making it. But it did. I got my name out there with that song, and I’ve been consistent with recording and mastering my craft since.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road is smooth when chasing your dreams; how you deal with rough times determines the outcome. No matter how long it took, I’ve never let an obstacle stop me from what I wanted to do.

I am a musician, not just a rapper or someone who’s just testing the waters with music, but a real artist composing a track. I’m known for really being able to bring songs together. For example, every song might not need someone’s voice, so I’ll be the one to stretch the limits and place a harmonica for a second verse. Having an ear for music is what I specialize in. What sets me apart is that I’m willing to play my role until I get the main role.

What matters most to you? Why?
My household and family matter most to me. I’m always the one to ensure the home is taken care of 1st. My household is number 1 in my life because if the energy in my house is off, it shows with everything else I’m involved in.
